If you find online games an exciting adventure, then you’re sure to love these films which showcase the best scenes all about casino!

Casino Royale

James Bond is notorious for his casino prowess, but from page to screen, the character changes from an expert Baccarat player, to a connoisseur of Poker. In the 2006 spy film, featuring Daniel Craig, 007 is at the beginning of his career and training for his licence to kill. His assignment takes him to the fictional Casino Royale in Montenegro, where he must attend a high-stakes Poker game.

Bond’s nemesis is Le Chiffre in this casino scene, as he aims to bankrupt the villain through a game of Texas Hold ‘Em Poker. Not only does Bond slay Chiffre with the cards, and win a staggering $115 million jackpot, he also manages to fight off an army of henchmen in true 007-style.

Rainman

This 80’s classic Rainman, starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman, has the casino game of Blackjack at its centre. The story follows two brothers, Charlie and Raymond Babbitt, on an adventurous road trip to Nevada. Along the way, Charlie discovers that his autistic brother Raymond, has a unique ability for instantaneous counting and complex calculations.

The highlight scene in the film showcases how Raymond uses his ability to count cards when playing Blackjack, as the brothers make their way to the casinos of Las Vegas. The crowds gather around the table, while Raymond manages to win thousands of dollars in his expert playing of Blackjack. There is disbelief amongst the casino crowds and security, that one person could count cards in a game that features a six-deck shoe, but that’s exactly what Raymond achieves in this iconic film.

The Hangover

There was always going to be fun and laughter with a film that takes place the day after a stag party in Las Vegas. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, whose characters try to find the missing groom, but have no recollection of the night before.

Set in Nevada, and with filming taking place in the real-life state, it was inevitable that The Hangover would feature some iconic casino scenes. Most notably is the scene that references the aforementioned Rain Man, in which the character of Alan (played by Galifianakis) uses his knowledge of card counting in a game of Blackjack.

Due to the elaborate adventures of the night before, the trio owe $80,000 to gangster boss, Chow. They therefore formulate a plan, which proves to be successful, where Alan, with help from characters Stu and Jade, manages to win over $82,000 by playing Blackjack.

The scene famously shows the inner workings of Alan’s mind, as calculations sprawl across the screen in a humorous gaming montage. This is made even better by the fact that Alan has suddenly learnt the card counting skill by simply reading a book! If only we could be so fortunate in real-life.
