A JOBSEEKER was stunned after the director of a company they applied to sent back an outrageously rude rejection letter.
The person, whose identity cannot be revealed for legal reasons, applied to become a Project Director at International Talent Partnership (ITP), a recruitment agency in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
But after the application, they received a private message on networking site LinkedIn from the company director who told them, in no uncertain terms, they had been unsuccessful.
Driving the knife into the candidate, they slammed: “I reviewed your application for our Project Director job and I am astounded you thought you had the relevant experience as described in the advert.
“Please do not apply for any of our advertised vacancies.”
The director ironically signed off with “regards” following the brutal rejection.
A quick scan of the applicant’s job history shows a wealth of experience in project director roles across a range of high-profile sectors.
The unsuccessful candidate is also showered in endorsements by former colleagues and managers.
The jobseeker, who describes themselves as an “experienced public sector consultant”, later shared the awful message to their followers on LinkedIn.
Posting a screenshot of the dreadful reply, they quipped: “Talk about letting me down gently!!!!”
Dozens of comments flooded in from people saying how “rude” they thought the message was – and many simply didn’t believe it was real.
One person quipped: “That’s not for real… I mean who would give such an unprofessional and rude response?”
Another slammed: “Wow, brutal! I doubt [they] will last long with that attitude lol.”
And a third chimed: “That was so rude…. It’s not real is it…?”
While a fourth asked jokingly whether the applicant had sworn at the director during the application to receive such a response.
A fifth noted: “Is this a prank of some kind?”
While another highlighted the dreadful “PR” the comment will have on the director and the organisation.
The jobseeker later added the firm had issued an apology.
They explained: “ITP (International Talent Partnership) have apologised for [it’s] handling – matter closed for me as that’s all I wanted.”
On their website, ITP describe themselves as providing “efficient, accurate and professional experience to industry leaders across the globe”.
An ITP spokesperson told The Sun Online: “At ITP we do take very seriously our level of professionalism when dealing with all job applicants.
“Following an investigation 2e have dealt with this matter both internally and externally by personally speaking with, apologizing to and offering our support to the person with the grievance, for which they were satisfied with our reaction.
“This will not happen again, we are grateful that this has been brought to our attention and as far as we are concerned the matter is now closed.”
