A collection of nearly 200 early images by the pioneer of photograph sold at Sotheby’s in New York for $1,956,000 this week, a new record for Fox Talbot. The albums came originally from Henrietta Horatia Maria Gaisford, his half-sister, and had remained with the family for more than 170 years
