Gemma Collins shares shock diagnosis in worrying health update after three-week illness

Reality TV star Gemma Collins has updated fans from her sick bed, as she showed doctors taking care of her while being hooked up to a couple of IV drips. The 44-year-old media personality shared that she had spent the last three weeks feeling “out of breath” and tired”.

Posting to Instagram, she shared a few snaps showing her relaxing in bed, with a doctor sorting out her medication in a second image. In another picture, she showed the IV drips in her arm as she explained that she had been told to “take it easy”. In her social media post, Gemma explained to her 2.2 million followers: “Hey guys, sorry been quiet I have Pneumonia. I’m not as fast or on it as I usually am on the daily. I am still honouring my work commitments which is taking every bit of energy I have but will be back entertaining you all soon.”

In another post, on her Stories, the GC added: “I’m having to take it easy, which is not like me. Very slow and get so out of breath and tired so quick.” The NHS website states that Pneumonia is inflammation of the lungs, usually caused by an infection.

It adds: “You may need treatment in hospital if your symptoms are severe. You may be given antibiotics and fluids intravenously through a drip, and you may need oxygen if your blood oxygen levels are low.”

It’s not the first time that Gemma has opened up on her health battles. She recently shared some unwanted side effects that came with taking Mounjaro weight-loss jabs. The TV star revealed she’d lost more than two stone since she started on the NHS-approved weight-loss medication.

However, Gemma her concerns that she’d started “looking older” since she started taking the jabs since late last year. She revealed to her Instagram followers: “I really don’t know what’s happened to me, I really don’t. It’s just come on me overnight. But it has been a year since I’ve had any little tweakments.”

She revealed that the lines around her eyes had gone “next level”, before questioning if the changes might be linked to her weight loss. Gemma explained: “I don’t know if it’s since I’ve been losing weight. I sure haven’t got ‘Ozempic face’ yet, but it would be the dream right now.

“I’ve always had a fuller face, as you know. I do like expression around my eyes. I want to look natural still. But this just isn’t right. What has happened? I am 44 but this is taking it to levels that I never, ever imagined it’d get to.”
