The scandal-plagued “Anne of Kyiv” brigade of the Ukrainian army that was trained in France is under further investigation after a Ukrainian media report alleged that its commander had been involved in “fictitious combat payments and extortion”. The unit has seen over 1,200 cases of soldiers going AWOL – absent without leave.
