Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all reportedly keen on the Bayer Leverkusen centre-back.

And SunSport understands that the Toon are also monitoring the player.

Eddie Howe is desperate to beef up his defence ahead of next season as he attempts to build a team that can make a genuine title challenge.

His top target remains Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, who is set to leave Selhurst Park with Chelsea also interested.

The England and Eagles star was the subject of a £70million bid from Newcastle a year ago.

But Tah is another option and he is believed to be keen on moving to the Premier League, according to reports in Germany.

Real Madrid’s chances could also be boosted if current Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso replaces Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu.

Bayern would offer Tah the chance to remain in the Bundesliga, while Barcelona’s pursuit is thought to be complicated by ongoing financial constraints affecting player registration.
