WoW Classic Battlegrounds release date, time news with PvP update and maintenance

[ad_1]

WoW Classic gamers are getting a big update this week that will bring the first Battlegrounds PvP Zones to the game.

Blizzard confirmed earlier in 2019 that they had plans to speed up their launch schedule where they could.

And that has led to the WoW Classic Battlegrounds release date being confirmed for later this month.

The downside is that World of Warcraft gamers will have to contend with some lengthy maintenance before they can explore the latest content.

But Blizzard has provided news on most of these fronts, making it easier to predict what time the new PvP update will be going live.

WHEN IS THE WOW CLASSIC BATTLEGROUNDS RELEASE DATE?

Good news for fans, the WoW Classic Battlegrounds release date has been confirmed for December 10, 2019.

The news was shared earlier today, following the reveal it would be going live sometime this week. We now know that the new Wow Classic PvP update will be going live following a lengthy maintenance period.

During this time, the game will not be playable on live servers for around eight hours of December 10.

According to the latest news from Blizzard, WoW Classic maintenance will begin at 7am PT on Tuesday, and won’t end until 3pm PT.

For gamers in the UK, that means WoW Classic will become unplayable from 3pm until 11pm, GMT. It’s a long wait, but it should end with the release of the new WoW Classic Battlegrounds.

WOW CLASSIC BATTLEGROUNDS

As many WoW fans will already know, Blizzard is planning to release Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley on December 10.

Fans will also notice other invasions happening in-game, although not everything promised from Phase 3 will be arriving tomorrow.

A recent message from Blizzard explains: “Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley will open in WoW Classic simultaneously on all realms the week of December 10.

“Warsong Gulch is a 10v10 game of capture-the-flag, with each faction attempting to carry their opponents’ flag all the way back to their own base, while preventing the opposition from doing the same. Players fight in level-ranges in Warsong Gulch: 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and level 60.

“Alterac Valley is a large 40v40 tug-of-war zone, with many quests, objectives, and areas of interest.

“All players at level 51 and higher are placed into a single level-range in this epic struggle, with rewards via reputation as well as quest rewards.

“Some Alterac Valley rewards are highly sought, such as Don Julio’s Band, Lei of the Lifegiver, and Ice Threaded Arrows/Bullets.

“The Alliance entrance to Warsong Gulch is in Silverwing Grove in Ashenvale Forest, and the Horde entrance is near Mor’shan Base Camp in the northern Barrens.

“The Alliance and Horde entrances to Alterac Valley are in northern Hillsbrad Foothills. Both Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley can also be entered by speaking with the appropriate battlemaster in your capital city.

“Battlegrounds are cross-realm, which means you’ll fight alongside allies and against opponents from all of the realms in your region.”

Battlegrounds is a special type of zone where PvP challenges can be found and offers an outlet for more competitive inter-faction play.

These areas were distinguished by having red instance portals, making it hard to stumble through them by accident. While in a Battleground, player versus player combat is always enabled, even if you’re playing in a PvE server.

Blizzard has also confirmed that groundwork for a paid Character Transfer service is also being put in place.
