THIS summer the best Women’s teams in the World will head to France to battle it out for the World Cup.

England, who finished third at the last tournament in Canada, head across the channel with high expectations after an impressive qualifying and build-up which included lifting the SheBelieves Cup.

When is the 2019 Women’s World Cup?

The tournament will be held between June 5 and July 7, 2019.

France is hosting the tournament, with the final being held at the Olympic Stadium in Lyon.

  • Stade de la Mosson, Montpellier

Which channel is it on and can I live stream it?

The BBC won the rights to broadcast the 2019 tournament games.

They have confirmed that coverage of every game will be provided across television, radio and online.

More information will be released nearer the time.

Is VAR being used in the World Cup?

It has been confirmed that the video assistant referee system will be used at the tournament.

FIFA announced the news in March and it will be the first time it has been used in the women’s competition after it was introduced in Russia for the men’s last summer.

27 referees and 48 assistance referees have been selected for the tournament and took part in a VAR training camp in Qatar.

Are tickets still available?

Tickets for the final in Lyon sold out in less than half an hour but there are tickets available for some of the group games, inclduing some of the England group stage matches.
