Who won The Masked Dancer as British Olympic gymnast shocks fans as Carwash


British Olympic gymnast Louis Smith shocked fans as he was unveiled as Carwash and crowned winner of The Masked Dancer.

Fans thought Britain’s Got Talent winning dancer George Sampson was underneath the Carwash mask on account of some pretty identical moves, so when the 32-year-old pulled off his disguise they were amazed.

One said: “Still don’t accept car wash wasn’t George Sampson been convinced all week that it was him.

Another added: “More reasons to never believe twitter. You call convinced me car wash was George Sampson and it was wrong #fakenews”

Louis, 32 confessed that taking part in the telly show has been “bonkers”.

He said: “I love the singer version, I love dancing and I love performing.”

“I think this is a lot more physical obviously but I am definitely a better dancer.”

Louis claimed it wasn’t too hard hiding his participation from too many people, explaining.

“It was pretty easy keeping it a secret but was difficult not to tell my mum.

“They run a slick operation, everything is locked down.

He added: “My character is so fun and full of energy and is such a laugh.

“I’ve seen all the costumes and I think Viper and Rubber Chicken are my favourites.

“I loved the dances and creative team and the costume is epic.”

Carwash won the shoe ahead of finalists Zip, Squirrel and Scarecrow.

Zip turned out to be Take That star Howard Donald, while Squirrel was unmasked as actress and singer Bonnie Langford.

EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite amazed guest panelist Holly Willoughby when she revealed she was Scarecrow.

The mum-of-three is “practically related” to the actress as she is cousins with Holly’s husband Dan Baldwin.

The first series of the ITV show saw Diversity star Jordan Banjo unmasked as Viper on May 29.

Louise Redknapp’s also took part as Flamingo, and US star Dita Von Teese was revealed as Beetroot.

The show also saw Eddie the Eagle, as Rubber Chicken, and Dancing on Ice star Christopher Dean dressed as Beagle.

Zoe Ball was Llama and Friday’s episode saw Knickerbocker Glory finally unmasked as Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood and Frog revealed as being Kelly Brook.
