Jake Paul v Tommy Fury: Tale of the tape

Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will finally settle their bitter long-term feud when they meet in the ring later this month.

Fury is the marginal favourite going into the fight since defeating Anthony Taylor on the undercard of Jake Paul’s split decision victory over Tyron Woodley, in the pair’s duel appearance on the Cleveland card in August.

The pair came face-to-face in an altercation in America which helped set-up the prospect of a showdown between the two fighters, who have a combined social media following of over 30 million.

Paul has had a relatively short and controversial boxing career bringing over former MMA fighters Woodley and Ben Askren into crossover bouts while also defeating YouTubers AnEson Gib and Deji.

Meanwhile Fury is looking to follow in the footsteps of his heavyweight champion brother Tyson, but could face the toughest test of his career against Paul having only fought relatively limited opposition on his undefeated record.

Jake Paul: “I think Tommy Fury is at the top of that list. He’s skilled, he’s undefeated, and he’s a real boxer.

“He has like 4 million followers on Instagram which is good engagement. He has the fans from his relationship show [ Love Island ].

“It all starts with the numbers, like would the fight sell a lot? Would people actually care? I could go and fight the infamous jiujitsu guy who doesn’t shut the f*** up on social media, but it’s a hard sell.

“Timothy had no choice but to sign the contract so he could finally pay his bar tabs, afford a shirt for the club, and stop living off Molly!

“December 18 in Tampa Bay, I’m changing this w*****’s name to Tommy Fumbles and celebrating with Tom Brady.

“Pucker up Timmy… it’s time to kiss your last name and your family’s boxing legacy goodbye.”

Tommy Fury: “Jake Paul is about to learn a serious life lesson. I’m not one of these MMA men or basketball players.

“I have been boxing my whole life. I will show the world the difference between a YouTuber and a real fighting man.

“When he jumps through them ropes on December 18 and he realises that I’m not a YouTuber, I’m not a basketball player, I’m not a wrestler, I’m not a UFC fighter… I’m going to hit him with a nice sharp jab square in that big a*** f****** jaw of his. He’s going to on the ropes thinking ‘what have I signed myself up for here?’

“I guarantee after four or five rounds he’s going to be giving it ‘pull me out, pull me out’. This is easy money for me.

“Thank you very much, don’t pull out and I’ll see you and your long a*** jaw on December 18. I can’t miss that jaw! I’m going to break it in the first round.

“You’re going to get a reality check on December 18.”
