Manchester United 0-1 West Ham: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer post match

Manchester United face Aston Villa at Old Trafford looking to continue their impressive start to the Premier League season.

The dramatic 2-1 win over West Ham last week, meant Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have picked up 13 points from a possible 15 and are among the early pacesetters.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping to continue his remarkable start to his second spell at the club, scoring in each of his first three games following his return from Juventus.

United face a challenge in the form of Aston Villa however, who gave Chelsea a real scare a fortnight ago, before eventually succumbing 3-0.

Against Everton last time out in the league, their dominance translated into goals as they swept aside Everton 3-0 at Villa Park.

But both sides were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, United falling 1-0 to West Ham and Villa losing out on penalties to Chelsea.

Here’s all the information you need to follow the action from Manchester later today:

What time is Man Utd vs Aston Villa?

Unusually, the game will be one of two 12.30pm kick-offs today, with the hotly anticipated meeting between Chelsea and Manchester starting at the same time.

The match was initially scheduled to be played in the traditional 3.00pm slot, but was moved due to the fact Manchester band The Courteeners are playing a concert at Lancashire Cricket Club’s stadium Old Trafford.

The Trafford Council Safety Advisory Group requested that the fixture be pushed back amid safety concerns for fans.

Man Utd vs Aston Villa channel and live stream

Despite starting in the lunchtime slot, unfortunately the game won’t be televised on UK television, meaning for the second time in a row, United fans will be unable to watch Ronaldo at Old Trafford live on TV.

In terms of radio coverage, talkSPORT 2 will have live and exclusive commentary, allowing supporters to at least follow along in that way.

Should Sky Sports select it as their Game of the Day it will be shown, in full at 8.30pm, before highlights are shown on Match of the Day on BBC One at 10.30pm.

Team news

After making 11 changes for the cup exit to West Ham, Solskjaer will bring all of his regulars back into the starting line-up.

David de Gea will likely come back in for Dean Henderson, behind United’s first-choice back four of Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

In midfield, Scott McTominay’s return to fitness is a major boost, while Solskjaer has a decision to make over whether Jadon Sancho deserves a start.

Edinson Cavani is United’s major doubt, after it was revealed the Uruguayan was still short of fitness after an ankle injury.

As for Villa, Morgan Sanson limped out of the cup game with Chelsea with an apparent hamstring problem and is likely to be out this weekend.

Leon Bailey made a huge impact against the Toffees, but was injured after scoring his maiden goal, with Dean Smith likely to be cautious with his summer signing.
