Do you feel like you’re crawling towards the end of 2020? After the rollercoaster year we’ve had, it’s easy to wish the rest of it away in the hopes of a better 2021. But taking a moment to #SparkDelight for yourself, your friends or family could be the best way to sail through the tail end of what has been a challenging (OK, make that terrible) 12 months, on a high note.
Yes, to bring back some sparkle in the face of the pandemic, we’re all about making Christmas even more special this year. The plan? Surround yourselves with loved ones (IRL if you’re allowed, or virtually if you can’t), get stuck into an epic feast, put the decorations up early and make sure your gifting plans are on point.
And because gifting can #SparkDelight just as much as the empowerment we get from self-gifting, here are the GLAMOUR team’s top choices from Swarovski’s AW20 collection to guide your present-giving plans.

This year everyone deserves a bit of sparkle in their lives. I couldn’t resist an early Christmas present to myself, so these gorgeous pearl earrings are perfect, whether that’s to add a bit of glamour to my Zoom calls or hopefully to wear for celebrations on Christmas Day.
Then when it comes to gifting and treating others, my mum is at the top of my list this year. I know she would love the Swarovski Elements Pendant and it would make the ideal addition to her jewellery collection. I can’t wait to treat her!

Christmas may be a little unusual this year, but festive cheer has never been so important. Times are hard, but if you’re in the position to give a gift to a loved one (or give yourself a well-deserved self-gift) presents are the perfect pick-me-up. I love jewellery but I never think to buy it myself. We’re always waiting for our partners or family to purchase those special pieces, but I don’t wait for someone to treat me to anything else in my life… Why should jewellery be the exception? No more, I say.
The Swarovski Zodiac II Pendant spoke to the astrology lover in me. I love delicate necklaces with a hint of sparkle and this dainty piece makes a statement on its own, but would also look fantastic layered. The festive period obviously isn’t *all* about me and I get so much joy from present-giving. My mum is a long-time lover of Swarovski so I know she’ll adore this statement necklace. Hardware chains are a favourite trend of mine and it’s so unique, I know my mum won’t have anything else like it in her collection.

There’s an old fashion adage that advises you to take off the last thing you put on. But how can I when I’ve finished off my outfit with the stunning Swarovski Twist Wrap ring?! I could spend all day twisting my hand to watch the stunning crystal catch the light. This ring is my kind of indulgence… it’s fantastical, it’s elegant, it’s unapologetically glamorous. All the things I love when it comes to accessories.
And because understatement ain’t really my thing, I’ve fallen for this statement watch too. I *adore* the unusual contrast of the rose gold trim and blue face, which looks beautiful against my skin. Also, the versatility! I’d wear this for literally *any* occasion, adding glamour to day looks but bringing just the right amount of sparkle to dressed-up outfits. Combined with the crocodile-effect strap it’s a great mix of traditional and modern. I’m getting the best of both worlds with this beauty on my wrist!

As Christmas traditions get turned on their head, this year I’m cheering myself up by creating new festive rituals. Tackling new recipes and discovering ‘classic’ films that have so far passed me by are proving a lot of fun, but I’m not ashamed to admit one of my favourite new traditions is putting my own name on my gift-buying list. I’ve always loved the idea of self-gifting, particularly at Christmas, but tend to find my own desires taking a back seat amidst a wrapping paper blur. This year, though, my name *was* on the list and to make up for lost time, as well as the nightmare of 2020, I decided to double-self-gift (gasp).
Swarovski’s Vittore Mini Hoop Earrings had been on my radar for some weeks as I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of simple and chic huggie hoops to add sparkle to my WFH uniform of sweatpants and hoodies. As I can’t see my ears without a mirror (duh), I also decided to gift myself the Twist Rows Ring, which brings a smile to my face every time I glance at my fingers flying across the computer keyboard. I’m not exclusively self-gifting, though. During my sparkle spree I picked a pair of beautiful T-Bar earrings for my best friend who will happily find any excuse to accessorise. She’ll love the sexier take of the graphite grey and brushed gold finish.
For the past 125 years Swarovski has been igniting sparkle in our lives with its innovative cut-crystal jewellery. The Christmas range is full of pieces that will spark festive joy, whoever is on the receiving end. Whether you’re shopping for something to treat your A-list gift recipients, or fancy bringing extra sparkle into your own life (our present-giving mantra is always, ‘One for them, one for me’) you’ll find it among Swarovski’s creations, which cleverly mix the totally on-trend with wear-it-forever classics.
