Virgil Abloh’s latest Louis Vuitton men’s trainers are limited edition… and they’re only available to buy in London

These days the freshest footwear in the world, the kind that instantly stamps you with twinkle-toes status, often comes in limited quantities.

And nobody knows this more so than the sovereign of street wear himself, Virgil Abloh.

The Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear division – and founder of cult street wear brand Off-White – exploded into the realm of luxury fashion in a flurry of logo’s and monograms, achieving almost instantly the kind of fashion notoriety it takes others years to build.

Now 39-year-old Abloh has further cemented his prowess with the latest iteration of the LV High-Top Trainer.

The limited-edition high-top sneakers have been created to represent nine cities worldwide, giving each city its very own dedicated colour.

London’s is sunny yellow, while orange represents Chicago (Abloh’s hometown), bright blue is New York City, pink is Milan, baby blue is Paris, Dubai’s is forest green, purple is Tokyo, Shanghai’s is turquoise and Seoul’s is a rusty red.

The trainers also all have a classic Louis Vuitton monogrammed tag.

Abloh first debuted the footwear design on the catwalk of the house’s Spring/ Summer 2019 show and since then has re-designed them each season in different colourways.

Father-of-two Abloh was named Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear division in March 2018, making him the first designer of colour to hold such a high-profile position in fashion.

The LV 408 Trainers cost £1,250 and can be purchased on December 4 at Louis Vuitton’s New Bond Street store, Harrods or Selfridges.
