SEVERAL people in Vienna have been injured and two killed – including one suspect – after multiple shootings took place near a synagogue in the Austrian capital.
The nation’s public broadcaster, ORF, cited witnesses saying several shots were fired shortly after 8pm (7pm GMT).
It is believed around fifteen people have been injured as a result of the attacks, which took place at six different locations near the Stadttempel synagogue.
One police officer was shot and injured and one suspect was shot dead by officers, while one victim has died as a result of gunshot wounds.
More than one gunman is believed to be involved in the incident, with one said to still be at large in the Austrian capital.
The incident is being treated as terror related, the country’s interior minister has said.
