Vauxhall has launched a Plug & Go sales initiative aiming to reassure potential electric vehicle (EV) customers with an all-in-one package covering home and public charging, warranty, roadside assistance and servicing.

The Stellantis-owned car brand’s offer sees UK retailers offering EV and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) a free home charging unit, eight years’ roadside assistance and battery warranty, a free six-month BP Pulse subscription and three years’ free servicing.

Vauxhall Motors managing director, Paul Willcox, said: “Vauxhall is helping to move Britain into the electric era with our Plug & Go offer that aims to remove the barriers to making the switch to electric and simplify the EV ownership experience.

“Switching to electric is now an even better choice for Vauxhall customers with an easy, all-in-one package covering home and public charging, warranty, roadside assistance and servicing.

“Vauxhall is committed to making electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle ownership as simple as possible, as we continue to progress towards becoming a 100% electric brand by 2028.”

Vauxhall MokkaVauxhall’s current vehicle range includes the Corsa e, Mokka e, Combo-e Life and Vivaro-e Life full EVs.

PHEV variants of the updated Crossland and all-new Astra are also available, with an EV version of the Astra set to join the range in 2023.

The brand has pledged to offer an electrified variant across its entire model line-up by 2024, however, and have a fully electric range by 2028

As part of its new offer, EV customers can choose from two wall box options – a PodPoint Solo 3 or Hive EV Charging – which is worth £800, Vauxhall said.

A free six-month subscription to BP Pulse, meanwhile, will give them access to over 7,000 charging points across the country.

Year-to-date to the end of October, Vauxhall’s UK car registrations are ahead of the wider market, but down 2.48% at 78,340 (2020: 80,329).

Its Corsa hatchback remains remains the UK’s best-selling new car, however, with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders’ (SMMT) October figures detailing 35,183 Corsa registrations.
