Uzodimma nominates ex-speaker, 16 others commissioners, seeks Assembly’s confirmation


IMO State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, on Monday sent a list of 17 commissioner-nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

This is happening six months after he sacked 20 members of the state executive council.

Speaker of the House, Kennedy Ibeh, read out the names of the nominees as contained in a letter written by the governor. Ibeh, read the letter during Monday’s plenary.

The nominees include: A former Speaker of the state of assembly,  Goodluck Opiah, ex-Chairman of Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, Rubby Emele and Prof Emmanuel Duru.

Others are: Prosper Ohayagha, Prof Ifunanya Okorodudu, Prof C. Nwosu, Keziechi Ogaziechi, Rex Anunobi, Love Ineh, Simon Ebegbulem, Olechukwu Chukwunyere and Ford Ozurumba.

The others names on the list are: Stanley Obidiegwu, Ann Dozie, Prof Kenneth Amaeshi, Hauia Ibrahim and Elias Emedom.

Uzodinma has been working with eight commissioners since he dissolved his cabinet on May 13.
