The EA Sports game was released back in September without the Olympic hero included, but there are plans to add him in the winter update regardless of whether he signs a professional contract or not.
The eight-time sprint champion was recently handed a trial by Australian outfit Central Coast Mariners and shined in a friendly against Macarthur South West.
Bolt netted twice in their 4-0 win and spoke of his delight after the game. “Dreams become reality through hard work. My first start and scoring two goals, it’s a good feeling,” he said.
“I’m happy I could come here and show the world I’m improving. I’m keen to be a Mariner, to play my best and get into the team.”
Fox Sports Asia spoke to EA about Bolt and the likelihood of him being added to the game at a later date.
A source confirmed: “If Usain is picked up by the Central Coast Mariners then he will automatically be included in the winter update or the next major update.
“But if he isn’t listed then he might be included as a free agent.” The source added: “Yes, he will also be the fastest player in the game.”
This means that come Christmas you should be able to sign Bolt for your team either by approaching Central Coast Mariners or by simply offering him a contract.
Central Coast Mariners aren’t the only team who could offer Bolt a professional deal.
Maltese outfit Valletta are also considering a move for the Jamaican.
Valletta managing director and CEO Ghasston Slimen told ESPN: “A champion is always welcome and at Valletta we believe nothing is impossible.”
Football Manager also recently addressed claims Bolt would feature in FM19.
A spokesman said: “He is not [included in the game]. He’s still on a trialist contract and hasn’t played a competitive game, so he will not be added.”
