HT: URUGUAY 0-1 CHILE
Eduardo Vargas’ 27th minute strike is the only thing that separates the two sides in this Group A clash in the Arena Pantanal.
It’s been fairly even in terms of possession so far. Uruguay have been on the front foot for the most part, but seemingly unable to convert their attacking intent into actual clear-cut chances, partly due to some of their own wasteful forward passing and partly due to Chile’s compact and well-organised defence.
Stay tuned for a fascinating second half, in which Uruguay will have to come out guns-blazing to get a result, having already lost their opening game and in desperate need of points.
Chile, on the other hand, already have four points to protect, and another three would leave them comfortably on top of Group A, with Argentina needing to get a result against Paraguay to stay on their tails.
Don’t go anywhere! The second half is incoming…
