UP to 22 people have died with ‘bodies strewn across tables and chairs’ in a mass ‘poisoning’ in a nightclub.
Emergency services were called at the Enyobeni Tavern in East London, South Africa early this morning.
They found lifeless bodies across tables and chairs with at least 22 deaths reported so far.
Authorities who were alerted by members of the public to the incident at Scenery Park, are investigating the deaths.
Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana said the circumstances under which they died are “under investigation”.
He added it was too early to determine the cause of death of the young adults aged between 18-20 years.
Local television showed police officers trying to calm down a crowd of people gathered outside the club in the city.
