UFC chief Dana White following Joe Rogan's advice to recover from Covid-19

Podcast host and MMA commentator Rogan came under fire for his unique methods of recovery from covid earlier this year, but White believes that following his advice saw him better in days

UFC President Dana White has followed the same methods as Joe Rogan to recover from coronavirus.

White tested positive last week but claims he was back working out just days after losing his sense of taste and smell.

Podcast host Rogan came under fire for his unique methods of recovery from Covid-19 earlier this year, recommending that people use antiparasitic medication Ivermectin in their recovery despite there being no evidence of its effectiveness.

Speaking on the Jim Rome podcast, White said he caught the virus during a Thanksgiving trip, before realising he had no taste or smell on Sunday.

“We just went up to my place in Maine and for Thanksgiving it’s tradition we go up there,” White explained. “Somebody had it.

“And we get back, and we all tested positive for COVID – literally the whole family and my family up in Maine, too.”

White added that his first port of call was UFC commentator Rogan, who informed him of his methods of recovery.

Within days of first feeling symptoms, he UFC chief was feeling completely fine, and is now back exercising while he finishes out his quarantine.

White is fully vaccinated against the virus, and felt only minor symptoms after testing positive on Sunday.

“On Sunday, I cold plunge and steam, [like] every day,” White continued.

“So I get out of the cold plunge and steam, and I spray the eucalyptus and I was like, ‘What the hell?’ I couldn’t smell anything.

“So I opened the bottle and start sniffing the bottle of eucalyptus, and I couldn’t smell and I was like, ‘I know what this means.’ I literally got out of the steam and got on my phone and called Joe Rogan.”

Rogan informed him to take monoclonal antibodies “as soon as possible”, before doing a NAD drip, both of which he did very quickly.

And he says that he was feeling much better within hours of the treatment, which is not yet approved as a method of recovery from the virus.

“So Sunday at 8 o’clock at night I have no taste or smell,” White explained.

“I get up Tuesday getting ready to shave. Cleaning my razor, I could smell the alcohol.

“My taste and smell were back by the next day by 11 o’clock, and then I took a dose of ivermectin.

“Then yesterday I did a vitamin drip, and today I’m doing another NAD drip.”

White says that he has “never felt better”, and is going to exercise intensely as he rides out his mandatory quarantine period that could last ten days.

“I’m feeling like a million bucks,” White told Rome during his appearance. “I’m doing two-a-day workouts for the next 10 days while I have COVID and I’m in quarantine.

“I got my smell and taste back in less than 24 hours.”

UFC has a Fight Night this Saturday in Las Vegas, headlined by former featherweight champion Jose Aldo fighting Rob Font in a bantamweight contest, which White will miss as he quarantines.
