Officials told the family that he was involved in an altercation and went into solitary confinement at the Union Parish Detention Center in Farmville.

‘There was no one else in the cell at the time he was found dead,’ Sheriff Dusty Gates told RadarOnline before adding that investigators ‘do not suspect a homicide at this time.’

Gavin, who’s mother is Tyler’s sister Melva, was checked on at 6 p.m. with no concerns from officers.

At 8 p.m., guards found Porter dead after he had ‘hung himself with bed sheets.’

Gavin was arrested in 2015 for shooting and killing his biological father after an argument.

He was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading no contest to manslaughter charges.

Perry admitted to People magazine last year that he struggled with thoughts of suicide after enduring years of abuse at the hands of his father.

‘If any of it had worked, my attempts to kill myself … I wouldn’t have gotten to the other side of all the horror,’ he said. ‘I believe that to everything there’s an opposite. So for all of that pain and hell, I was going through as a child, there had to be beauty. I tell anyone who is in pain, ‘just keep going. One little step is a step.’

He revealed that diving deep into his creative process helped him battle negative thoughts and suicidal ideation as he created his success.

‘As I dug into writing and started understanding the motivations of characters, that helped me understand my own behaviors,’ he said. ‘I could untie some of those strings and get to full healing.’
