Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Tottenham star Heung-Min Son is ‘so underrated’ and is ‘up there’ with the likes of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah as the best in the Premier League.

The South Korean winger struck late at Turf Moor to give Spurs a valuable 1-0 win against Burnley, which helped Jose Mourinho’s side into fifth.

It was Son’s eighth league goal of the season and the seventh time he has netted from a Harry Kane assist already this campaign.

Son has three years to run on his contract at the club but Mourinho admits that Daniel Levy is already working on extending his deal.

Neville believes Son is often overlooked in any conversation about the best players in the league and says he’s ‘up there’ with the likes of Salah.

‘I think Son is so underrated and he doesn’t get the glitz of some of the other top players in the league,’ Neville said on Monday Night Football.

‘He is an absolutely amazing player Son, he is a brilliant player. It’d be a nightmare to play against him he makes all the right runs.

‘You talk about Sterling regularly, we talk about Mane and Salah at Liverpool, he’s right there with them. If he was at Liverpool or City he’d be doing what those lads are doing.’

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher also expressed his admiration for Son, claiming the winger could be a target for Manchester City or Liverpool if Salah or Raheem Sterling left.

‘If Sterling or Mane left one of those clubs you’d think Son would be one of the first players Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp would go for,’ said Carragher.
