It has been confirmed that leading Nigerian gospel artistes, including Tope Alabi, Bukola Bekes, David G and others will be performing at the 8th edition of the yearly music concert, The Real Worship.
Organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lagos Province 11, The Real Worship presents a platform for gospel artistes to showcase themselves, as well as nurture and promote homegrown artistes from the church.
According to Pastor in charge of RCCG, Lagos Province 11, Alex-Edosa Igbineweka, the 2019 edition marks the 8th anniversary of the music concert that started under the roof of the church.
“The vision of the Real Worship is to raise an altar of worship that create an atmosphere of where signs and wonders and diverse miracles are massively present and souls are drawn in their numbers to God.
“It is aimed at harnessing, raising and promoting the ministry of young, gifted, and diligent music ministers who will lead the audience in moments of spirit tilled worship to God and saturate the atmosphere with God’s glory.
The Real Worship-started in Lagos in 2012 and over the past eight years has become a landmark transforming worship experience event in Amuwo dofm LGA, particularly in Festac Town. The live music concert has in the past, attracted notable names in the gospel music scene such as Nathaniel Bassey, Chioma Jesus, Tope Alabi, Nose, Sola Allyson, BJ Sax, Cobhams, Bidemi Olaoba, Mike Abdul, Big Bolaji, Tosin B and others.
“Real Worship has continued to grow in leaps and bounds-and we had spread the tentacles. This year’s edition, like the previous ones, will hold in the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) Field at 23/24 Road, Festac; a very secure, serene and expansive environment. Security and other necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety and convenience of all attendees,” he said.
Themed Set Time, the concert is billed for November 29 and promises to be the best in various spheres, with more souls to be won and more miracles.
It is worthy to mention that the Assistant General Overseer, in charge of Administration and Personnel, Pastor J .F Odesola will be the guest Minister in this year edition.
Speaking on number of people in gospel concert compare to that of secular music, one of the home-grown artistes, who will be performing at the event, Chika Ezeigbo, popularly known as Chika 100% said, “we are not even in competition; altars are being raised every day. This is an altar for people to come together to worship. So, we are doing this so that people can come and express themselves before God. And of course, a lot of people will be coming with a lot of diseases and sicknesses and we are trusting God for great season of miracles. So, let me just be clear, we are not in competition,” he said.
