Top 20 Premier League hairstyles ranked – including David Luiz and Paul Pogba

A recent poll has determined the top 20 hairstyles in the Premier League this season.

Hair care experts VO5 conducted a study of 2,000 football fans in Britain, who voted Tottenham’s Harry Kane top of the style rankings for his coiffed do.

And Kane’s win also earned him some bragging rights across north London, after beating Arsenal’s David Luiz who followed behind in second.

His curly locks were deemed secondary to Kane’s slick look, but the poll did pitch Luiz ahead of the Spurs’ striker’s teammate Hugo Lloris in third.

Making up the top five were Man Utd midfielder Paul Pogba and Leicester maestro James Maddison.

Pogba is known for showcasing a wacky trim every so often, while Sergio Aguero’s bleach-blonde bonce saw him finish sixth.

Man Utd, Arsenal and Tottenham each had three players in the top 20, with Liverpool and Man City having two apiece.

The poll revealed that 63 per cent of voters feel a player’s image has a positive impact on their career and profile.

Hair style is deemed the most important factor (42 per cent), ahead of boots (29) and off-field clothing (27).

David Beckham has been highly influential on the general public with his ever-changing hair do, but the former England captain only finished third on the list of best hairstyle’s in Premiership history.

His Alice band look was his most popular with voters, but not enough to see him beat Cristiano Ronaldo’s gelled creation, which came first.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard came runner-up behind Ronaldo, while Becks also claimed fourth spot for his Mohican in 2000.

Soccer AM presenter Jimmy Bullard’s long locks came 12th in the rankings, and the former Hull and Fulham midfielder admitted he hoped to have scored better.

“I’m a little bit gutted,” Bullard said. “When VO5 asked me to comment on the results, I’d hoped that my iconic long locks would have at least got me into the top ten.

“But looking up the list, with the likes of Becks, Lampard, Bale, and Rio’s famous corn-rows, I can’t really complain. I’m not having how Robbie Savage beat me, though, that’s out of order!”

Dan Lynes, Head Stylist at VO5 said: “People often look to footballers for the latest styles – these trends then filter down into barbers all across the country.

“It’s great to see such a range of styles in the top ten. Our range will help you get the players’ looks with minimal effort – the one thing we can’t promise is that you’ll suddenly play like them.”
