Todd Chrisley's son Kyle talks suicide attempt: 'I got all kinds of crazy thinking going on'

The Chrisley family drama continues to unfold as eldest son Kyle opens up about a recent suicide attempt.

Patriarch Todd recently took to Instagram with a family photo as they gathered around a smiling Kyle in his hospital bed.

But in a recent episode of Chrisley Confessions, the father and son revealed that the health scare was more serious than they previously led on.

Kyle explained: ‘I take medication and I had a bad side effect to it and I tried to take my own life. With the meds, I got all kinds of crazy thinking going on.’

Todd added: ‘I think some of the medications they put you on—that you had not been on—one of the side effects is suicidal tendencies and we’re now off of that.’

During Kyle’s hospitalization, the family’s spokesperson said that he had an ‘adverse reaction’ to his medication.

The Instagram photo from the hospital came with the caption: ‘NOT TODAY SATAN, NOT TODAY… God shows up and shows out , now won’t he do it ? Kyle is great and we are back to the grind.’

It was the first family photo taken since Todd and wife Julie’s recent indictment over tax evasion.

Stoking the scandal even further, their oldest daughter Lindsie has accused Todd and her brother Chase of extorting her with a sex tape.

She claims they bought and threatened to release the sex tape if she didn’t lie under oath at her parents’ trial.

The alleged sex tape was filmed with a puppy cam and features Lindsie and The Bachelorette star Robby Hayes.

During the recent podcast, Todd also addressed his estranged relationship with Lindsie: ‘My door is always open to my daughter Lindsie.

‘I love her always and I will die loving her, but I have right now, I have four of my children and I am grateful for that. And the door is open for the fifth at all times.’
