Aside from a salty margarita and a glowing tan, is there anything better than post-holiday hair?
After a week in the sun, our hair is blessed with those delicious sunkissed strands – the kind that can usually only be achieved by spending half a day at the hairdressers with foils in.
Sadly, jaunts in the sun have been cancelled for most of us. Thankfully, a top colourist has the perfect solution for faking sunkissed strands and says it is the perfect hair colour to plump for in case of a second lockdown.
Bryony Cairns, colourist at Larry King, is treating her clients to what she’s dubbing ‘sun kisses’. “A common trend is to change our hair according to the seasons. Now autumn is approaching I want brunettes to feel sunkissed after a summer we’ve missed out on,” she explains. “Using soft balayage and babylights to create gentle tones framing the face and tips of the hair will create a ‘sunkissed in the autumn’ feel.”
Bryony says that asking for a gloss in salon will help enhance the look, explaining: “I particularly like using glosses in the salon to add tone to any existing colour on the hair, brightening or adding warmth to faded colour. Honey, apricot and chestnut tones keep the feel of autumn but the brightness of summer.”
The colourist believes it’s the ideal look for people looking for a subtle colour switch-up, adding that it will add longevity to the colour and make a huge difference to brunettes in particular.
And whilst we’re crossing everything that a second lockdown isn’t on the horizon, we’re not up for being burned again and being left with a major root situation, which is exactly where this trend comes into play.
“In case of a second lockdown it’s a colour that will keep you positive through winter incase a second lockdown happens but you won’t need to worry about the upkeep!,” adds Bryony.
