Thiago drops hint over Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool line-up for Man Utd

Thiago Alcantara has dropped a hint that he will feature for Liverpool in this weekend’s Premier League clash with Manchester United.

The Spaniard, who signed for Liverpool from Bayern Munich in the summer, has been largely out of action for the Reds after picking up an injury in October’s Merseyside derby.

Thiago returned on December 30, in Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Newcastle before making an appearance in the defeat by Southampton.

Klopp most recently played the midfielder in Liverpool’s 4-1 FA Cup victory over Aston Villa on January 8, but Thiago has been used sparingly in the three matches.

Ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United this Sunday, Thiago took to Instagram to upload an image of himself alongside an advertisement for the game.

It is common for players to do this when they have been picked to start, and many fans believe this is Thiago’s way of confirming he is ready to take on the Red Devils.

Jurgen Klopp recently provided a positive update on Thiago’s fitness, and referred to the returning midfielder as a “new signing”.

Klopp said: “To put the pressure a little bit off the situation I said we should sign Thiago in the window. Now he is here, let’s hope he stays like this for a long, long, long, long time.

“The most important thing is he is fit and he trained. He had 90 and 45 minutes in the last two games. We will see if he can play and which position he can play because there are different options.

“But it is really good to have him around now. He is a really good guy and an exceptional football player. It is like a new signing.”
