A theme park being built in Kent has revealed what one of their ‘zones’ will look like, as well as teasing their star attraction.

London Resort will be opening in 2024, and has been dubbed the ‘UK Disneyland’ by those who’ve seen plans.

Plans submitted for the £3.5 million park showed ‘two gates, a waterpark area, e-sports facilities and a conference and convention centre’ as well as space for fine dining in the various ‘lands’.

These lands include The Isles, inspired by mythical sea creatures, and The Starport, which will be a futuristic zone, as well as the newly-teased Base Camp, which is dinosaur themed.

Other zones include a Hollywood-type Studios, a fairytale woodland, a medieval kingdom, and an ancient jungle.

One of the eight rollercoasters at London Resort is in Base Camp, called Quetzalcoatlus and designed to mimic the flight of the eponymous winged dino.

Riders will soar over treetops at speeds of 70mph, flying over a second, smaller rollercoasted that hasn’t yet been revealed.

The Quetzalcoatlus is set to be one of the fastest rollercoasters in Europe, and will travel through water and canyons in Base Camp.

Proposals for Base Camp say it will focus on ‘dinosaurs, adventure and the legacy of unsung heroes of palaeontology including Mary Anning’.

There will also be an immersive restaurant set underwater (Picture: London Resort)

It will also be a ‘family orientated experience’, where little ones can dig for fossils, be part of a 4D prehistoric experience, or enjoy a meal at an immersive dining spot on an underwater cliff.

Located between Dartford and Gravesend, the whole of London Resort is the size of 136 stadiums, so it really could put the Swanscombe Peninsula on the map for family days out.

It’s all in the planning stages right now, and we still have around three years to wait. But when that day comes, and you’re flying like a literal dinosaur – it will be thrilling.
