The Witches 2020: How to watch the remake film in the UK from today



The Witches movie is set to be released this week, making it the perfect spooky flick to watch at home this Halloween.

The terrifying film, based on the best-selling 1983 Roald Dahl book, will be available in the UK from today.

The new movie boasts an all-star cast and is a 2020 remake of the 1990 cult classic, following the story of a little boy who discovers witches are turning children into mice.

But who is set to appear in the new scary flick and how can you watch it in Scotland?

Who will star in the Witches?

The Witches movie will feature a star-studded cast, including Anne Hathaway as the Grand High Witch.

The 37-year-old, who previously starred in The Devil Wears Prada and the Princess Diaries, has been updating her fans with her terrifying transformation into a witch for the film.

Ma’s Octavia Spencer will star the Grandma, Stanley Tucci joins the cast as Mr Stringer and Chris Rock plays Older Hero Mouse.

This year’s remake, directed by Robert Zemeckis, follows the same plot as the original cult classic -about a boy who discovers child-hating coven of witches.

The movie was originally meant to be released at the start of October but the date was pushed back due to the pandemic.

The spooky movie is now being released just in time for Halloween.

The Witches will be made available as a 48 hour rental from today Monday, October 26 for £15.99 via Premium Video on Demand (PVOD) platforms, including Amazon, iTunes and the Google Play store.

The film was originally set to be screened in cinemas but this was scrapped following a recent spike of Covid-19 infections.
