The Krankies support England in Euro 2020 semi final and sing 'Come on England'

The Krankies have said they will be backing England to win ahead of their Euro 2020 semi final clash with Denmark tomorrow night.

The panto stars appeared on Good Morning Britain and were asked by Susanna Reid if ‘all home nations in the UK should support England’.

Ian and Janette said they would be cheering The Three Lions on from their home in Queensland.

It comes after Scotland’s national team were sent home after being beaten by Croatia at Hampden.

Scots fans are known for jesting their football rivalry with England fans.

Susanna asked: “You’re going to be singing ‘Come on England, it’s coming home, aren’t you?”

Ian Tough smiled as he said: “Yes, certainly, we’re British and Scottish, let’s stick behind Britain, if it was Wales or if it was Ireland – we’re all one… it’s against the European’s – we want to win!”

Susanna added: “What do you think of a fellow Scotland fan like Gordon Smart, who says he wants to see the worst outcome possible for England?”

Former Sun showbiz editor, Gordon Smart, was seen shaking his head as the pair revealed they would be supporting England.

Ian teased: “I remember Gordon when he was the showbiz editor of the Sun, he wasn’t very good at that either!”

And when Richard Madeley asked Gordon to explain his reasoning behind supporting ‘anyone but England’, Gordon said: “Low self-esteem, rampant paranoia and good old-fashioned mischief making, Richard, right?

Gordon Smart said he wouldn’t be backing England.

He added: “It’s about rivalry. I’ve got two teams – Hibernian and Scotland. I’m afraid I don’t just then automatically support my nearest geographical neighbour as a result of us going out of a tournament.

“It’s a bit of fun, right? I need to make it absolutely clear, I think Gareth Southgate is a phenomenal manager, and a brilliant diplomat. A great bloke, a wonderful ambassador…That England team is probably the most likeable for a long time, but I still want the journey to end one stop before it gets home.”
