The frozen city: Snow and ice covers Russian ghost town abandoned since 2013 due its freezing -50C temperatures

  • Eerie images were taken in abandoned buildings in a settlement 11 miles (17 km) from the town of Vorkuta
  • Photos show how the snow and huge icicles have settled to cover the floors and furniture of the buildings  
  • The region reaches extremely cold temperatures as low as minus 50 degrees Celsius in the winter months
