The Bachelorette vet Clare Crawley recalls being abused by priest in Catholic school

Clare Crawley has opened up about being abused by a priest in Catholic school.

‘I grew up going to a Catholic school and I was the victim of a predator,’ the Bachelorette vet, 40, revealed in a sneak peek of season two of Red Table Talk: The Estefans.

Clare claimed the priest was regarded as a ‘counselor’ by her school, yet she called her time with the alleged perpetrator ‘one on one time with a predator.’

‘My parents looked at Catholic priests as — they held them on a pedestal,’ she explained.

‘It is very deep in our roots,’ Clare said when co-host Lili Estefan raised her mother’s Mexican heritage.

‘How could you not trust a priest?’ Gloria Estefan asked.

‘Supposed to be the purest, most trustworthy,’ Gloria’s daughter Emily remarked.

‘Our school treated him as a counselor. My parents did the best they could, reached out for the resources they could at the time, and sent me to this priest.

‘And I don’t think there is any counseling that was done,’ Clare continued. ‘It was a one on one time to be a predator.’

The revelation comes two months after Clare revealed she was a victim of childhood sexual abuse in a candid Instagram post.

In a post capturing the star in a low-cut pink top, the ABC alum opened up about her trauma while explaining why she originally got breast implants and why she’s now ready to go back to ‘Clare 1.0.’

‘Self love is the act of giving a voice to your truth. So here is mine,’ she wrote before sharing how: ‘As a child of sexual abuse, my young adult years were spent in unhealthy relationships feeling unworthy of the good ones.’

According to Clare the early abuse took an extreme toll on her self-confidence.

‘It was a vicious cycle, because the more I chose the wrong men who treated me poorly, the more I believed I wasn’t good enough,’ the beauty wrote before adding, ‘Enter the breast implants.

‘I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to get them, but the truth is it was money that would have been better spent on therapy to heal my wounded heart,’ Clare continued, adding: ‘I ended up spending the money on therapy anyway.’

But through growth and self-reflection the Sacramento, California-native said she’s ready to get rid of her enhancements, which she has previously shared were causing health complications.

‘Cut to now. A woman who has learned to love herself deeply on the inside, knows her worth, and will fight for herself no matter what,’ Crawley continued. ‘I’ve learned the toxicity that these implants can cause on our bodies, as it has done to mine.

‘So I am stepping away from something that no longer serves me… not my heart, and certainly not my health.’

‘Surgery is this week! We are taking it back to Clare 1.0, who is lovable and worthy just the way she is,’ she concluded under the glowing selfie.

Clare became The Bachelorette last year, after first rocketing to fame on Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor.

She left filming early to be with contestant Dale Moss, who proposed to her on the show.

The couple have reportedly split again following a past reconciliation.

‘Dale and Clare have split again,’ a source told Page Six on Monday. ‘This time it’s for good. It didn’t end well.’
