Wakefield scored five tries in a scintillating first-half display to record a big win over Huddersfield.
Liam Kay’s sixth-minute try opened the scoring before Kelepi Tanginoa bulldozed over after 21 minutes.
Jay Pitts, Joe Westerman and Bill Tupou also crossed in the opening period to make it 30-0 at the break.
Kay and Mason Lino scored breakaway tries in the last 15 minutes, before James Gavet and Jake Wardle replied with late consolations.
Huddersfield went into the game in good form with three wins from their past four games, but had no answer to Wakefield’s inspired performance.
Kay’s diving finish was a fine way to get off the mark but the hosts were reduced to 12 men after 15 minutes when Jacob Miller was sin-binned for a high tackle on Aidan Sezer.
However, it made no impact at all on their progress as Tanginoa, Pitts, Westerman and Tupou all crossed before half-time, while Lino was perfect with the boot in the opening 40 minutes.
A second-half Giants fightback failed to materialise and a wayward pass from Darnell McIntosh was seized on by Lee Kershaw, who raced down the pitch to set up Kay for his second of the game.
Lino scored a similar breakaway try from distance, before Gavet and Wardle scored two consolation touchdowns in the final two minutes, ensuring the Giants got onto the scoresheet at last.
