Frank Leboeuf has delivered a damning assessment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Paul Pogba, claiming the midfielder is causing “a real problem” and insisting the Manchester United boss does not know the solution.
United limped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal on Sunday evening, with the midfield diamond selected by Solskjaer falling flat.
Pogba was in the firing line before the match and was among the players who struggled most as he drifted from central midfield to the left flank.
The France star was also at fault for conceding a penalty by fouling Hector Bellerin and handing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the chance to convert the winner.
Surprisingly, the same midfield system which was dominated by the Gunners had impressed only days earlier as United beat RB Leipzig 5-0 in the Champions League.
But Leboeuf declared the result was a fluke as he criticised Solskjaer, while urging the United boss to drop Pogba.
“What we have seen in the Premier League is not good enough from Manchester United. The level drops dramatically.

“It was very strange to see that diamond midfield because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted Pogba in the middle of the park where he is clearly a problem because he changed him in the second half, putting him on the left wing almost.
“He doesn’t know what to do with Pogba. Solskjaer has to rethink his position, maybe the best position for Pogba right now is the bench.
“It seems to be a real problem. He’s causing problems in the middle of the park where he doesn’t defend. He’s like a double with [Bruno] Fernandes so it’s a real problem.
“You cannot count on him to defend and to even have a tactic. You have to let him be free and have tactics for the others players.”
