Supporters of clubs from all around the Premier League were urging their chairman to get on the phone to Jeremy Lynch following his superb performance in the first-half of Soccer Aid.
Lynch is a freestyle footballer who once appeared on Britain’s Got Talent.
He now runs the F2 Freestylers Ultimate Soccer Skills Channel on YouTube and recently appeared for Non-League outfit Billericay Town.
And one thing’s for certain – the boy can play.
He took charge for the England XI from the beginning of the game at Stamford Bridge, and found the net twice in the first half
His first was a simple tap-in after Rachel Yankee’s volley was saved, and he then doubled the lead following a superb turn and half volley from inside the box.
He should have had a penalty too, being cleaned out by Michael Essien when he was about to pull the trigger.
His showing convinced fans of many clubs that he could do better than some of their current crop of players, and many of them urged their team to sign him up.

Is the Premier League a step too far? Perhaps.
But his performance certainly stole the show.
