TV star Simon Thomas has married for the second time after finding love in the wake of his first wife’s death.
The brave former Sky Sports presenter, who shared young son Ethan with Gemma Thomas before her death in 2017, married Derrina Jebb in Norwich Cathedral this weekend.
Sharing a beautiful picture of their special day, the happy groom simply captioned it: “Love. Wins.”
Their religious ceremony was attended by friends and family – and even a few famous faces, including children’s TV presenter Angellica Bell, who wrote: “Thank you for letting us share your special day.”
The handsome groom wore a navy three-piece suit with a fitted waistcoat and jacket, accessorised with a smart pale grey tie.
He looked ecstatic as he and his new bride clasped hands and made their way back up the aisle after exchanging vows, while their wedding guests whooped and clapped.
Bride Derrina looked glowing in an off-the-shoulder white wedding dress featuring a sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice, which flared out over her hips.
She grinned with happiness with her short veil swept back over her tumbling wavy locks and pinned in place with an embellished grip.
Her dangling pearl earrings perfectly matched the pale cream and pink roses she held in her bouquet as she led her groom to the cathedral doors.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic crushing so many lovebirds’ plans, Simon and Derrina managed to throw a raucous reception at Oxnead Hall in the Norfolk countryside.
The bride changed outfits to wear a white beaded camisole top and floor-length white skirt for the party, exchanging her heels for a pair of white flip-flops so she could dance the night away in comfort and style.
Fittingly for Simon, the pair married on the same day England thrashed Ukraine in the Euros 2020 – and the guests celebrated the 4-0 footy victory by dancing to the Lightning Seeds’ Football’s Coming Home under a huge marquee.
A beaming Derrina could be seen dancing on her new husband’s shoulders as their gleeful guests let their hair down around them.
One guest sharing snaps from their big day paid tribute, writing: “A truly magical evening celebrating our dear friends special day. @simonthomastv & Derrina you’re an absolute delight.”
The gorgeous venue was decked out in fresh flowers and fairy lights that were switched on as dusk fell, creating a truly magical scene.
Simon couldn’t stop smiling as he and Derrina made their love official, later twirling her around the courtyard in front of their friends and family.
