When the weather gets grim, Simon Cowell gets going… to sunny Barbados.

The X Factor guru was snapped looking fit and relaxed as he chilled out on the beach with his partner Lauren Silverman, 44, and their son Eric, seven, before hopping on to a jet ski.

The family, who have homes in the US and London, are thought to be staying at the luxurious Cove Spring House – a seafront villa popular with Sir Elton John and Rihanna. Worth jetting off for.

Simon has no regrets about the bike accident that nearly paralysed him – and says that one year on, he feels better than ever.

The media mogul needed eight hours of surgery and months of therapy to rebuild his spine after he fell off an electric motorbike in September 2020.

Yet despite coming within a millimetre of having to use a wheelchair, Simon, 62, is already back in the saddle.

He cycles around 10 miles a day on a power-assisted e-bike, which he credits with helping his creative ideas flow.

The X Factor supremo said: “Honestly, if I could rewind, I would have gone through the whole thing again – just because I feel better now, even though it hurt like hell at the time.

“That expression, ‘Get back on your bike’… with me, it was literal.

“My most creative time is now when I cycle. I feel better than I did because I exercise so much more.”

The music exec and entrepreneur had metal rods and screws inserted his into spine after the fall at his home in Malibu, California, last year.

He also credits his partner Lauren Silverman – the mother of his seven-year-old son, Eric – for helping him get back on his feet.

Speaking to Fox’s Extra TV show in America, Simon revealed: “She’s like my lioness. She was amazing.”
