Sheridan Smith was close to her Essex home when the bad weather reportedly resulted in her crashing her car
A passerby who saw Sheridan Smith’s horror car crash thought ‘someone must be dead’.
Sheridan is said to be ‘lucky to be alive’ after her Range Rover drove into a tree during Storm Arwen.
The 40-year-old was close to her Essex home when she was said to be in the car with her boyfriend Alex Lawler.
A dog walker saw her car wedged in the tree with the airbags deployed and her hazard lights flashing.
He said: “The scene was horrific. I automatically assumed, ‘S***, someone must be dead in there’. But then I looked in the car and there wasn’t a person to be seen.”
“I panicked and started searching through the bushes shouting, ‘Hello, does anyone need help? Hello!?’” the person continued to The Sun.
“But there was no reply. The car was completely trashed with the engine hanging out and the whole of the front of the bodywork missing”

The passerby said they called the police after wondering where the passengers disappeared to.
Mirror have contacted reps for comment.
The publication previously reported that she made it out of the crash with cuts and bruises.
The tree had severe damage especially to the top branches which suggested that the car could’ve been in the air as it hit the tree.
It’s thought that the crash happened just before an episode of The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV where Sheridan appeared.
A neighbour said: “Sheridan is so lucky to be alive. It could have been so much worse. Her car was stuck in the tree, it was a really bad crash.

“It could have been so much worse, she had cuts and bruises, but it could have been fatal, she was incredibly lucky. It was a brand new Range Rover, she hasn’t had it long. It’s almost a miracle she’s not hurt herself more.”
Essex Police confirmed that they spoke to Sheridan and Alex confirming there were no other drivers involved and that no crimes were committed.
It comes after Sheridan is alleged to have claimed the atmosphere on The Jonathan Ross Show was ‘chauvinistic’ and she wasn’t treated with kindness, while she was behind the scenes of the show.
She appeared alongside singer Gary Barlow as they promoted their new Christmas song collaboration – and she was seen smiling throughout.
But Sheridan reportedly threatened to sack staff during a heated argument following the conclusion of the chat show.
