Sergio Romero's wife elaborates on criticism of Man Utd over failed transfer

Sergio Romero’s wife has elaborated on her criticism of Manchester United after her husband failed to move away on deadline day.

With Dean Henderson returning from his loan at Sheffield United, the Argentine has further been pushed down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

David de Gea remains first-choice under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, leaving Romero in limbo.

Everton tried to sign the former Monaco star to provide competition for Jordan Pickford.

But the Toffees could not agree a deal with United, much to Eliana Guercio’s disdain.

She took aim at the Red Devils on Instagram, slamming their lack of professionalism during the transfer window.

She said: “It was a very stressful day for us. I have to say that I am sad, very sad on one and happy on the other hand.

“I am sad because Sergio deserved the opportunity to go to another club, he has shown what he can do and he worked every day.
