Ant Middleton has hit back at reports and claims that he made “lewd and suggestive comments” to women on the set of SAS: Who Dares Wins – which cost him his job on the Channel 4 show.
Ant insists it is not in his nature to be inappropriate towards women – and argues that even if he was blind drunk he would still be nothing but courteous and polite.
Defending himself while discussing his career mishap on a podcast, the star also took aim at what he regards as a rise in “victim mentality”.
The Daily Star reports him saying: “I can get as drunk as a skunk and that’s not in my nature, that’s not who I am.
“My family knows that and my wife knows that. I’m more of a boys’ boy – let’s f*** off the chicks and go and have a drink with the lads.
“It makes me realise how this victim mentality is really taking over.
“My career could be cancelled if I wasn’t who I am. I’m too far gone and too long in the tooth now to be completely cancelled.”
In March, reports emerged to suggest Any had made “inappropriate” comments to as many as four female members of staff.
The allegations were enough to prompt Channel 4 to cut ties with the star – with the channel vowing never to work with him again.
Ant has denied the allegations made against him and has argued there is a “witch hunt” against him.
The under-fire star is now moving to Australia to escape the “pretentious” UK.
He reportedly added: “When all this came up, I just took it with a pinch of salt because it’s, ‘He said, she said’. “I’m like, ‘Who’s made these complaints?’ ‘Well, they heard you saying…’ ‘Has it come direct from the complainant?’ ‘No, no, no, it’s come from a crew member’. I’m just like, ‘Get over yourself.”
