Rylan Clark joked to the audience at a bash that he’d funded the free bar, saying “I’ve paid for the drinks myself” – in a bid to spend his fortune before divorcing ex Dan Neal
Rylan Clark left fans at a bash in London in stitches after joking he needs to spend his £4m fortune before divorcing husband Dan Neal who he split from in June.
The Strictly: It Takes Two host and his husband reportedly split over differences regarding having children and Dan’s TV career ambition.
In a an apparent reference to the divorce, the presenter told an audience he had funded the free bar, saying: “I’ve paid for the drinks myself”, The Sun reported.
“So knock yourself out.
“I thought I’d spend it before . . . ”
Rylan chucked before adding, “No, anyway . . . ” before changing the subject.
The presenter released a moving statement in June after rumours circulated he and Dan split.
He said: “Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out, as the way it is being reported is unfair. I have made a number of mistakes, which I deeply regret and [which] have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.
“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”
Rylan and Dan first met in 2013 after Rylan had won Celebrity Big Brother.
The pair went on to get engaged in 2014, later marrying in November 2015.
Speaking in 2017 on BUILD series LDN, Rylan revealed: “We’re not that sort of couple that do the magazines and stuff like that.

“Good for you if that’s what you want to do, but I hate it. I can’t stand it.”
Rylan added that they were keen to work on This Morning, however, as it was a real milestone.
He added: “We were the first gay couple to do it, it meant something and we’ve done it a couple of times.
“We might do it again, we might not, but it’s not top of our list, because Dan likes to do his thing and I like to do my thing.”
In the same interview, Rylan also noted that the pair often had disagreements: “Obviously we love each other, but we row like all the time, but I think that’s normal.”
