Roy Keane said Liverpool midfielder Fabinho showed a ‘lack of football intelligence’ as Bruno Fernandes put Manchester United in front at Anfield.

The former United midfielder criticised the Brazil international for his involvement in United’s opener, fuming at him just ‘running beyond the ball’.

And he felt the defensive midfielder displayed a ‘really poor mindset’ when tracking back.

‘It is poor defending, particularly when I look at Fabinho,’ Keane told Sky Sports.

‘You look at where Liverpool are, they do have defenders back but it is about decision-making and football intelligence,’ Keane told Sky Sports at half-time.

Despite falling behind, Liverpool responded quickly.

Diogo Jota levelled with a neat flick and Roberto Firmino put them in front just before half-time with a powerful header.

After the break, Firmino scored Liverpool’s third after Dean Henderson saved from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Marcus Rashford gave United hope, however, latching onto a cute through ball from Edinson Cavani before slotting past Alisson.
