Robert Carlyle loves fan's Homer Simpson tribute to Trainspotting's Begbie

Robert Carlyle was impressed by a fan’s attempt to compare his Trainspotting character Begbie to Homer Simpson as he celebrated the film’s 25th anniversary.

Once Upon A Time star Robert sent a message to his famous co-stars and writer Irvine Welsh saying: ‘Happy 25th catboys’ and Irvine Welsh replied: ‘Back at ya gorgeous.’

He then was sent a fan collage of Begbie’s famous Trainspotting moments alongside some poses by Homer Simpson from cartoon The Simpsons and the result was uncanny.

Robert himself said: “Brilliant” at the Valentina 90 artwork sent to him by Twitter user The Magic Chip.

Amongst the images on show are Begbie and Homer both wearing bucket hats, sitting lounging with a beer in hand , lying with legs apart in a v shape and Begbie involved in a tussle.

While Robert has been enjoying some interaction with fans, his Trainspotting co-star Ewan McGregor has been busy toning his physique with his personal trainer ahead of filming commitments.

He was pictured slimming down at the gym with friends for his new film role.

He also posted one up of Ewan in a mask surrounded by himself and two others saying: “The Power of 4!”
