RIXO launch 5th anniversary collection featuring the brand’s first ever prints

RIXO, the British brand loved for its fun and feminine designs, is celebrating its fifth birthday today with a brand spanking new collection.

The 11-piece line features the prints and shapes from RIXO’s first collection, which its founders designed while still studying in 2015.

Taking inspiration from the spirit and attitude of its flagship store in Chelsea, RIXO has also opened a new boutique in St Johns Wood, which exclusively stocks the 5th Anniversary Collection, as well as the brand’s current styles.

“Orlagh and I started RIXO five years ago in the house that we rented together as students,” RIXO co-founder Henrietta Rix says, “We have grown up with the brand and although it’s a cliche, RIXO really is our baby and a huge part of our own identity. We love looking back at our journey and have so many special memories; little did we know whilst painting prints at the kitchen table all that time ago, we were actually crafting the brand’s DNA for today.”

Rix and her co-founder Orlagh McCloskey established RIXO after they met at London College of Fashion. “We felt so strongly there was a gap in the market for gorgeous vintage-esque printed silk dresses. We were like why is no one doing this?” Rix previously told the Standard.

The pair, who were living together at the time in 2015, left their roles as buying assistants at ASOS to start the brand. “We’ve always said that we want RIXO to be a future vintage, a brand that transcends trends,” Rix adds.

With a slot at Copenhagen Fashion Week under their belts, a newly-launched sustainable collection, and an established accessories line, we look forward to seeing how the next five years pan out.

RIXO’s 5th Anniversary Collection is available to buy online and from the St. John’s Wood boutique (51a St Johns Wood High Street London NW8.) Prices start from £185.
