REAL MADRID have announced the signing of £47million left-back Ferland Mendy from Lyon.
The 24-year-old France star joins on a six-year deal which expires in 2025.
Mendy’s presentation will take place on Wednesday, June 19 at the Santiago Bernabeu, an official club statement confirmed.
Ligue 1 side Lyon will receive £42.7m up front with the rest of the fee to come in add-ons.
Doubts had been raised over Mendy’s move when reports in Spain claimed Real Madrid requested a second medical on his dodgy hip.
A crew from the club’s medical department were said to be flying to France to do an “exhaustive” check on the defender – who could feature in this mouthwatering Real XI next season.
But the move has gone ahead as planned, taking Real Madrid’s summer spending close to a whopping £300m.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have already signed Chelsea’s Eden Hazard for a fee that could exceed £150m.
And in March the 13-time champions of Europe signed Porto defender Eder Militao for £42.7m.

That takes the club’s combined spends for the upcoming season up to £297.7m.
And it could be even more should Los Blancos manage to tempt Manchester United’s Paul Pogba into signing.
Zidane has reportedly demanded the World Cup winner but his side are unwilling to pay the £135m asking price.
