REAL Housewives Of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and husband Todd Tucker have welcomed a daughter via surrogate.
The couple came to the decision to use a surrogate for their third child after Kandi’s previous fibroid surgeries left them concerned she wouldn’t have a healthy pregnancy.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Kandi, 43, and Todd, 46, welcomed the newborn on Friday evening.
The baby girl, which they named Blaze, weighed 8 lbs, 1 oz.
The reality stars are already parents to son Ace, three, while Kandi shaes 17-year-old daughter Riley with ex Russell Spencer.
Earlier this year, the star opened up about her decision to use a surrogate on Busy Tonight.
She said: “I had to go through the IVF process to get my son, and I have been having some issues or whatever.
“And this is something we were discussing, so I felt like, you know what, why hold back? I might as well talk about it. I think it’s important to share.”
The happy news comes months after the RHOA star revealed the couple were initially expecting twins before one of embryos died in the womb.
Kandi spoke about their loss on the season 12 premiere of the reality show.
“We actually was supposed to be having twins, and then one of them didn’t continue,” she explained.
“I was sad at first, but then I just had to be grateful that the one made it.”
Earlier this month, the star was left shocked after co-star Porsha Williams decided to take back her cheating fiancé Dennis McKinley.
She didn’t see Porsha’s U-turn coming after she split from Dennis, 39, who allegedly admitted to sleeping with someone else while Porsha was seven months pregnant with their child.
Kandi announced she engaged to Todd in 2013.
Fans saw them officially tie the knot on Bravi spin-off special Kandi’s Wedding.
