REAL Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss has shared the first snaps of her newborn baby, Blaze, after a surrogate birth.
Proud mum Kandi, 43, who is married to Todd Tucker, 46, posted a photo of Blaze holding onto a family member’s finger on social media on Saturday.
She wrote: “Our little angel is doing well! She was born yesterday 11-22-19 at 6:54pm. 8lbs & 1oz!
“Her name is Blaze Tucker. Thank you to everyone for the love & well wishes! She’s gonna Blaze a path to greatness! @blazetucker is our newest heartbeat.”
Kandi is mom to 3-year-old son Ace, daughter Riley, 17, and is stepmom to Tucker’s daughter, Kaela, 22.
She also shared the cute snap on Ace’s Instagram page, along with the caption, “I promise to protect you @blazetucker!”
Meanwhile, as of Sunday evening, newborn Blaze’s Instagram account had already gained more than 60,000 followers since her birth on Friday.
“OUR NEWEST HEARTBEAT”
Kandi and Todd’s surrogate journey has featured in the twelfth season of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
As part of this documentation, Kandi revealed on the show that her surrogate was initially pregnant with twins, but one of the embryos was lost.
She explained: “We actually was supposed to be having twins, and then one of them didn’t continue.
“I was sad at first, but then I just had to be grateful that the one made it.”
Earlier this year, the Housewives star opened up about using a surrogate on Busy Tonight.
She said: “I had to go through the IVF process to get my son, and I have been having some issues or whatever.
“And this is something we were discussing, so I felt like, you know what, why hold back? I might as well talk about it. I think it’s important to share.”
