Rangers star Alfredo Morelos' doting family show support ahead of Old Firm derby

Rangers star Alfredo Morelos had a couple of special cheerleaders rooting for him ahead of today’s Old Firm derby at Ibrox.

The striker’s young family made sure to show their support from the comfort of their plush Glasgow apartment.

Morelos’ doting other half Yesenia left fans with no doubt as to who she and the couple’s seven-month-old daughter were backing as Rangers took on Celtic for their annual festive clash.

She shared a couple of snaps with Instagram followers featuring her and Leonela decked out in their own Gers’ tops before the match kicked off.

And their good moods got even better when Morelos’ side took the win against the old rivals with a 1 – 0 defeat.

Yesenia’s grid post went down well with Rangers supporters during and after the game as spirits were raised by their success on the pitch.

One said: “Love it Mrs Morelos.”

Another said: “Love this.”

One said: “Vamos Morelos”.

And another said: “Come On Morelos.”

Steven Gerrard ’s side made it three derby wins on the spin thanks to Callum McGregor ’s own goal after Nir Bitton was sent off for the Hoops for a challenge on Morelos.

During the game, the Colombian showed why he is so vital with his turn inviting a foul from Bitton which saw the Israeli sent off and transformed the game with Gers scoring shortly after that.

But he couldn’t help himself getting involved at times and picked up a late booking after getting involved in a late melee which saw him substituted for his own sake.

The family had a peaceful Christmas at home in Glasgow

His performance comes after a peaceful Christmas at home in Glasgow with the two most important women in his life.

Last month we reported they kicked off the festivities at their riverside home by celebrating their first Little Candles Day on December 7 with their baby girl.

The date is a public holiday in their native Colombia, called Día de las velitas, which marks the unofficial start of the season.
