PSG chief speaks on permanent Kean transfer after Ancelotti admission

PSG’s sporting director Leonardo is unsure whether Moise Kean will remain in Paris citing a difficult transfer market as an issue.

The Italian is in the midst of a loan spell at the Parc des Princes having been allowed to leave Everton temporarily.

Kean struggled to make an impact on Merseyside despite arriving from Juventus with plenty of expectation in 2019.

The £27.5m signing managed just four goals, but has been quick to rediscover his mojo with the French champions.

He recently scored in the 4-1 win over Barcelona – his 14th goal for the Parisians so far.

Leonardo though is not sure whether the move will be made permanent claiming the “complicated” nature of the market means it will be hard to gauge Kean’s value.

He told Le10Sport : “Today, knowing a value is difficult.

“The choice was obvious. We made the choice to take a young player. We took it for one year, then we’ll see.

“Everton didn’t want to lose him. He plays very well, he scores. He has an important future, but there, we cannot know.

“We could not do otherwise than the loan and I think that today having it available for a year was already very positive.

“If we can see the future under certain conditions, we will try to see how it goes, but today, it’s very complicated to know.”

Everton have not struggled for goals this season with Dominic Calvert-Lewin enjoying the most prolific season of his career.

Richarlison is also a regular and Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti has previously stated the club were open to selling Kean.

“I think that at first we have to look to the desire of the player,” he said.

“If the player wants to stay at PSG then of course the two clubs have to sit at the table to talk about this, and we are open to talk and the club is open to talk about this if PSG wants to sign Moise Kean, who is doing really well in this moment. “
