Premier League transfer study shows Klopp £500m better off than fellow managers

Jurgen Klopp is almost £500million better than any other Premier League manager.

According to a new study, the Liverpool boss has generated a staggering “effective” profit in the transfer market of £552.4million since he arrived at Anfield five years ago – and has transformed the Reds into European and Premier League champions in the process.

It’s a stunning figure that takes into account the current value of the current Liverpool squad against the one Klopp inherited from Brendan Rodgers in October 2015.

Klopp’s net spend in the transfer market is then subtracted to arrive an hypothetical cash value of Liverpool’s first-team pool.

Jurgen Klopp has been incredibly shrewd with his signings

The next best Premier League boss is Sean Dyche – a staggering £463million behind.

Dyche has profited to the tune of just under £89million whilst turning the Clarets into an established top-flight club.

He is followed by Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo (£77.4million), Scott Parker of Fulham (76.2million), Sheffield United’s Chris Wilder (£31.05million) and Roy Hodgson of Crystal Palace (£24.9million).

The European Football Index study conducted by BetVictor tracks more than 350 managers over the course of 10 years in the five top European leagues in England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France.

Players like Sadio Mane have soared in value

It estimates that Klopp’s squad is now worth a staggering £978.9million compared to £312.4million five years ago.

He has spent £479million on new players and recouped £365.4million.

Jose Mourinho is bottom of the table – just a year into his Tottenham reign.

The study claims the Spurs boss is £228.8million in the red – with Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola just £31million better off.
